Fancy Little Nails

Hey everyone! I'm always fascinated by all those original and really artistically beautiful nail decorations out there, so I decided to dedicate a blog just for nail designs :) Enjoy!

I do not own/claim any of these images unless otherwise stated.

MANICURE MUSE: Custo Barcelona AW’12
“It’s a fusion of colors, graphics and materials,” said Custo Dalmau of his eclectic Fall collection. There was no shortage of everything under the sun. The collection included fringe, fur, sequins, prints, lame and leather (say that three times fast), but somehow it all worked. Eye-popping color radiated off the models, who were an after-thought to the clothes. Shown here is my favorite look from the show.
To recreate, I used Case Study by Essie, Royal by Love & Beauty, Blingtastic Gem Crush by Sally Hansen, and White and Black by Color Club.
To get these Ladyfingers:
1. Start with a taupe colored base
2. Apply a line of metallic blue down the center of your nail
3. Once dry, layer blue glitter on top of the blue line
4. Using a white nail art brush, draw two lines on either side of your nail
5. Using a black nail art brush, apply two small diagonal lines on either side of the blue connecting to the white vertical lines
6. Fill in a small amount of black at the very top on either side of the blue
7. Top it off with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

DAY 4 - GREEN NAILS
It’s late in the evening. I have set out to paint my fake nails with an idea in mind, an idea that my nails will look like this Jennifer Lopez green outfit, using an emerald metallic nail polish from a local brand, La Belle.
I ended up freehanding a lace design for the thumb and set in some black and green-colored gem stones.
For the index finger, I tried to copy what was going on in J-Lo’s dress. The pattern was too intricate to draw on my nails freehand, and as you know, I don’t own a stamping set, so I ended up just drawing some gold diamond shapes over a black outline and just set in some black gemstones.
I tried to mimic the peek-a-boo effect of her dress on my middle finger, but it looked weird and I ended up just adding a fishnet effect over the “nude” bits of the nail, to make it look less weird.
For the ring finger, I used a gold nail art pen and tried to draw another lace pattern. Last but not the least, for the pinkie, I drew a fishnet pattern ♥ I guess my advice for you is, you should just do a fishnet pattern for all fingers. LOL. It would be a lot prettier and a lot simpler to do than the stuff that I did.
I wanted to change the entire manicure, but it was getting late and I have to get up at 5:30 AM (every single day) because I’m a working (zombie) mom.
I can truly say that I am not very happy with the end result and to be honest, I would not be surprised if this gets no likes or reblogs at all. LOL
Oh well, tomorrow is another day. If I manage to squeeze in some time tonight I’m going to do a blue + purple pattern that will kick both Day 5 and Day 6’s butt.
